To start with, PayPal is the most recognised digital currency, available in over 200 countries worldwide. They pride themselves on their system's security and customer protection. In the quest, their system tends to put some transactions on HOLD, so let's say payments sent or received.

Their system doesn't just put payments or transactions on HOLD for future use, does it? It does so whenever it deems fit or necessary. So, without wasting much of your time, let us look into the 3 reasons their system holds funds or transactions. They are:

1. If the PayPal account of the receiver or seller is new.

2. If payment was sent into the PayPal account not long after that, the funds were sent out.

3. If the sender sent funds from a location or IP different from the usual one.

Nevertheless, some steps could still be taken to have the funds or transactions put on hold released immediately, especially if they are a few days old. Funds or transactions placed on a 24-hour hold for review usually don't require any action other than waiting for the 24 hours to elapse. As a result, 90% of funds or transactions put on a 24-hour review are usually released after 24 hours.
